Nitro Nobel Group

Safety starts with the right equipment

The Nitro Nobel Group portfolio brings together measuring instruments, testing systems, initiation equipment, and software — for work where precision and accountability are essential.

Measuring instruments

Measurement and control devices for electric blasting circuits (ohmmeters)

To ensure safe initiation and prevent misfires, electric blasting circuits must be checked for continuity and resistance before being connected to the initiation source.

Continuity testers are used to verify current flow. These devices only check whether the circuit is closed; if no continuity is indicated, the circuit is broken and individual sections are tested until the fault is located.

Purpose-built, certified ohmmeters are used to measure the circuit's ohmic resistance and confirm its continuity.

Seismograph with automatic recording of seismic-wave parameters

The seismograph is an electronic device for monitoring seismic waves. It requires periodic calibration — ideally annual, or as the project demands — to accurately measure ground vibration and blast overpressure while keeping it precise and safe to operate.

Multi-purpose equipment

Equipment for measuring delay precision in electric detonators and non-electric systems — CHRONOS type

Trio Chronos is a portable, high-accuracy digital timer used to determine the delay precision of detonators of any kind, of delay relays, and of non-electric initiation systems.

Trio Chronos also measures the detonation velocity of explosives, detonating cord, and shock tube.

The device is suitable for use in the production and testing of explosives and initiation means for both civilian and military purposes.

LDS detectors

Multi-purpose LDS detectors for explosives and narcotics.

B-SCAN scanner

B-SCAN scanner

B-SCAN scanner, with high sensitivity, for liquids and powders.

The B-SCAN scanner is a high-precision desktop Raman spectroscopy station — an efficient solution for examining liquids, solids, and powders suspected of being explosives, narcotics, or other dangerous materials.

I-SCAN

I-SCAN

I-SCAN portable IMS detector of residual traces and vapours, for explosives and narcotics.

Designed to detect minute quantities of low-volatility organic substances, I-SCAN includes a handheld sensor for detecting explosives, drugs, and toxic substances in the air around examined objects, on the surface of various objects, or on fingers and clothing.

G-SCANPRO

G-SCANPRO

G-SCANPRO portable laser detector, for explosives and narcotics.

G-SCANPRO is a next-generation portable laser detector using Raman spectroscopy that gives law enforcement and military and security agencies a powerful, high-precision tool with a low rate of false positives and false negatives, for detecting a wide range of suspect explosive substances and drugs in liquid, powder, or similar forms.

SNIFFER — LDS SPHERE system

SNIFFER — LDS SPHERE system

The new LDS SNIFFER system works on the basis of a chemical reaction instead of the electronic search used today.

With SNIFFER, users can search large spaces — rooms, containers, vehicles, and so on — in a matter of seconds.

SPHERE™ — fully integrated control system

SPHERE™ — fully integrated control system

SPHERE™ is a complete, integrated range of control and detection systems that lets security forces rapidly and effectively detect explosive materials and narcotics in the field.

SPHERE™ integrates explosive-detection systems and detection techniques, all designed for fast, easy use by law enforcement. These systems enable rapid, effective examination of materials, vehicles, and people for explosives or narcotics.

Alongside detectors that quickly identify explosives and drugs, SPHERE™ includes the complementary elements needed for roadblocks — mobile under-vehicle scanning systems that detect objects hidden beneath vehicles, 360° ground and aerial surveillance equipment, and Counter-IED jamming stations that protect deployed forces.

Electric initiation systems

Blasting machines, standard and gas-safe construction

Blasting machines are portable devices that deliver into the blasting circuit the energy needed to initiate electric detonators.

Regardless of the type of power source, the equipment currently used to initiate electric detonators relies on capacitors to accumulate the energy required for the blasting circuit.

Blasting machines, standard and gas-safe construction

Blasting cables

When low-intensity electric detonators are used, current is carried from the initiation source to the detonator circuit through blasting cables, which must have insulated construction tested at 2000 V.

For safety reasons, specific regulations require explosive charges to be fired from a distance of at least 100 m.

Non-electric initiation systems

Special blasting machines (NONEL® DS 2 type)

To initiate non-electric NONEL-type systems and similar ones, pyrotechnic means (pyrotechnic detonators and Bickford fuse) or electrical means (electric detonators) can be used. Purpose-built devices (blasting machines) can also be used for this.

Software solutions

Software for laser-scanning equipment and for risk assessment at explosives storage facilities.

Software for global risk assessment at civilian explosives storage facilities

Specialised software for global risk assessment (explosion / occupational / terrorist-attack risk) at civilian explosives storage facilities.

It uses the structure and activity of the donor site, the layout of exposed locations, and the duration of personnel exposure to determine the safety level.

The program lets users work in metric or imperial units and import maps or site plans, making it easier to visualise facility configurations and results.
